First post-war edition of the handbook on the administrative-territorial division of the Ukrainian SSR as of 1 September 1946. By oblast it lists raions, town, settlement and village councils and all settlements subordinate to them (towns, urban-type settlements, villages, hamlets), numbered; an alphabetical index of all settlements with raion and page; a list of 1945–1946 renamings (new and former names); a list of abbreviations. It allows finding the raion, village council and oblast of a village in 1946 and tracing former names. About 1,066 pages; a «To the readers' attention» leaflet asking for corrections is bound in.

Best copies: the whole-book scans — .djvu (19 MB, byte-identical to the Wikimedia Commons file) and .pdf (254 MB, 1066 pp, flatbed page scans with an OCR text layer of mediocre quality: headings read, tables and the index partly garbled). The pdf is the larger, higher-resolution copy; the djvu is the compact one. Files ТОМ-1/ТОМ-2/ТОМ-3 (176/176/184 djvu pages, no text layer) are camera photos of two-page spreads of the same book split in three parts (ТОМ-1 to printed p. 351, ТОМ-2 from p. 352, ТОМ-3 ends with the alphabetical index and renamings); they duplicate the content with lower image quality and may be dropped. «commons» refers to the .djvu document.
