What is Karma?
Karma is an external, cumulative recognition score for work that helps preserve and describe cultural and family heritage. It reflects accepted contribution impact rather than clicks, API calls, or raw activity.
Karma is separate from OpenHeritage points, account balance, reputation, and leaderboards. A contribution can be evaluated independently by each system.
How it works
Only accepted and verifiable contributions qualify. Rejected, duplicate, self-approved, imported, or automated activity is excluded.
Contribution types are weighted by expected effort and impact so different kinds of work are compared more fairly.
There are no daily, category, account, or lifetime caps. Every distinct eligible contribution receives its full weight.
After linking, accepted historical contributions are calculated too. Updates are synchronized securely in the background, so totals may take a little time to appear.
