Parts one and two cover the geography and history of Tauride province and the peoples of Crimea; part three covers the history of the Orthodox church in Tavria and a section 'Churches and parishes of the Tauride diocese in 1884' by district (Berdiansk, Melitopol, Dnieper, Simferopol, Perekop, Yalta, Yevpatoria, Feodosia): for each parish the settlement of the village, the history of the church, the clergy staff and its income, the number of parishioners and attached villages. Then clergy, schooling, popular customs, monasteries and sketes, and appendices.
