Handbook of the Kharkiv diocese compiled by the consistory secretary Ivan Samoilovych (Kharkiv, 1904; 478 pp.): churches, parishes, clergy establishments and actual staff, income, schools, with short histories of the diocese, bishops, monasteries, venerated icons, processions and church schools. For each church by district it gives the year built, land, number of parishioners, attached hamlets, and the priests, deacons and psalmists with age, education, years of service and awards, plus church wardens. An alphabetical index of towns, villages and khutirs comes first.
