The Album of the Kyiv Agricultural and Industrial Exhibition (1897) is an illustrated photographic publication dedicated to the large-scale exhibition held in Kyiv in 1897. Some copies or editions appear to have been printed in 1898.
The album consisted of a series of collotype (phototype) prints depicting panoramic views of the exhibition grounds, pavilions, architectural structures, terraces, and landscape compositions. Typical captions include:
“General View of the Exhibition,” “Upper Terraces,” “Central Section of the Exhibition,” “Main Staircase,” and similar titles.
The exhibition represented an important economic and cultural event of the late 19th century, showcasing achievements in agriculture, industry, engineering, and architecture. The grounds were located in the area of Troitska Square (near today’s Olympic Stadium).
The album was most likely produced by the publishing house and phototype studio of Stefan Kulzhenko, one of Kyiv’s leading publishers of the period. It was intended as a commemorative or representative edition.
